This week, Tin Roof Foundation moved into new office space as members of The Kijiji. In its own words “The Kijiji is home to a growing community of individuals and organisations who are creating a better Kenya and beyond. We provide our members with a space to work, peer-to-peer interaction, business services and learning through programmes and events.”
As if this wasn’t a great enough fit for our work, we then found that The Kijiji has gone the extra mile with a fantastic example of CSR. The walls of the working space have become a gallery for art by young people from Uweza Foundation. Uweza is an NGO that supports education and nurtures the talents of children and youths in Kibera slums. One of its programmes provides art classes where children can explore and develop their talents. The artwork is then sold to fund high school fees for the young artists and all the pieces on display at The Kijiji will support that cause.
We’re excited to connect with The Kijiji and the other social enterprise organisations that use the space. Check out their website to find out more about the space and the events they host.
